The Chairman^s Note

It is with enthusiam and great pleasure that I welcome you to the website of Abongui ABB, a charitable Organization for basic education and school-based child nutrition.

OUR MISSION:

     As stated in its Artciles of Incorporation filed with the Commonwealth of Virginia (USA). Abongui ABB is organized exclusively for charitable purposes to promote basic education, adult literacy and cultural community development. Environmental degradation and water pollution issues are of particular interest to Abbongui ABB, its Founder and Director General, as well as members of his family.

   More specifically, this organization will support primary and secondary education, school-based child nutrition and maternal health, access to drinking water in rural communities, and socio-cultural community development. Within its areas of interest as specified above, this corporation focuses by order of importance on the following three geographical areas:

(i) the village of Abongui-Morokro (Republic of Côte d’Ivoire – Ivory Coast, West Africa) which is the Chiefdom the Abongui Tribe;
(ii) the other eleven (11) villages that form together the Abongui Tribe along with Abongui-Morokro; and
(iii) the County of Fairfax, Virginia (United States of America) where the corporation is located.

   The full name is "Abongui Assah Bow Boka," which means Abongui^s Helping Hand" in my native Akan language of Agny which is spoken in both Côte d^Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Ghana.

WIDESPREAD POVERTY:

    Poverty and illiteracy are widepsread amongst my people where total primary school enrollment is less than 50 percent for boys and less than 10 percent for girls. In my native village of Abongui-Morokro, maternal mortality is extremely high and over 50 percent of infants die before their first birthday due the malnutrition. If you would like to help, please contact us by clicking here or by using the information above at your earliest convenience.

Thank you in advance for your generous support

Kouassi Soman
Director General and Chairman of the Board
